Hi Gidon,

Thanks for the warm words. I'm glad you found the slides helpful.

Traction is proof that your product has value. It is what entices investors (a.k.a. donors) that they should (continue to) give you money.

For for-profit enterprises, this generally means sales, though other things might be just as convincing.

For charities, the notion of sales isn't necessarily relevant. Rather I would use other types of benchmarks like impact.

This is a very, very concise definition of traction, but I hope it shows how the two different types of ventures might measure success.

Best,

Shuey

Hi Shuey,

great post, I like how you did a very good job of summarizing the slideshow in the short post, and the slideshow was short, succinct, and clear enough to enjoy clicking through it too - no short order for sure!

What do you mean by this:

(The most notable exception to the above is the definition of traction, which is not shared by for-profit and not-for-profit companies.)

Hi Naomi,

I'm glad you enjoyed the presentation -- event though you weren't there to attend personally.

In what topic were you looking for examples? It's possible that I can provide links or elaborate further here in the comments section or by email.

I took at your site and found some article that I definitely want to read. Nicely done! (BTW, anyone ever tell you that you look at a lot like MavenMall? It's uncanny.)

Regards,
