DUE DILIGENCE – U.S. NONPROFITS
- Charity Navigator - “Works to advance a more efficient and philanthropic market by evaluating financial health of US charities” through numbers and percentages.
- Guidestar – Lookup by Name or EIN number any nonprofit. Some basic charity information but its specialty is its collection of financials (990s) of the organizations in its database — which is extremely extensive.
DUE DILIGENCE - ISRAELI NONPROFITS
- Guidestar Israel – “The most comprehensive database of non-profit organizations in Israel. In the website you will find a profile of each of the 30,000 registered non-profit organizations in Israel.” Approved by the Government and the only site with financials.
- Israel Registrar of Charities (Hebrew) – Lookup a charity by Name or Number. Displayed: contact information, founding year and real-time Nihul Takin status.
- Israel Registrar of Companies (Hebrew) – Lookup a Public Benefit Company by Name or Number. Displayed: contact information and company type.
- Israel Tax Authority [Mas Hachansah] Tax-Exempt Status (Hebrew) – Lookup by charity or company number.
- IRS: Charities & Non-Profits – US Government site listing tax information, updates, and tips for charities.
- Israel Registrar of Charities (Hebrew) – Internet site of the Israeli governmental body that oversees Israeli charities.
- Israel Tax Authority (Hebrew) – Site for the governmental body that administers sales, income, and import tax.
- UK Charity Commission – Internet site for commission that oversees charities in England and in Whales. Some great articles for nonprofits world wide.
